Lavender Fields of Bulgaria

Summer tour to Bulgarian Provence – roses and lavender valley

ast few year Bulgaria became world’s leader in lavender production and export. Even France is outmached by Bulgarian elndless lavender fields.
This tour gives great opportunity to get amazing shots for your portfolio. You can catch apogee of the lavender in bloom just during two weeks in the year and we would like to invite you to do it together with us. During the tour we will visit some different lavender fields with different shooting positions and will travel to one of the brightest symbols of Soviet epoch – abandoned and beautiful Buzludzha monument.

Tour schedule

Day 1 — June 17, 2019

Meeting in Burgas or Varna airport, transfer to Tyulenovo village. Sunset shooting (up to the flight schedule). Night shooting on the lavender field with wind generators.

Day 2 – June 18

Sunrise in Tyulenovo bay. Transfer to Thracian valley, sunset at Zhrebchevo lake. Night shooting at Buzludzha monument.

Day 3 – June 19

Transfer to Plovdiv city – the oldest city in Eastern Europe. Sunset at the field near Plovdiv with night shooting on the same place after the dinner.

Day 4 – June 20

Visit to one of the best Bulgarian vineyards with hot mineral springs. Transfer to Kalofer town with sunset at the lavender field near Tazha village.

Day 5 – June 21

We will start our day with flight on motorized airtrike, then can visit one of the oldest rose oil refineries, where you can find out everything about famous Bulgarian rose oil. Sunset shooting will be on the field in the area.

Every participant can prepare up to 10 photos, made during the tour for analysis and enhansement.

Day 6 – June 22

Sunrise on one of the fiels in the area. Transfer to Yambol. By the way to Yambol we will stop for sunset shooting on lavender field near Chirpan city.

Day 7 – June 23

We will shoot sunrise on the lavender field near Yambol. After breakfast we will pack our bags and will move to the airport for the flight back home.

Tour program order can be changed due to the weather conditions or other factors.

Optionally we offer one flight with an air trike (motorized delta glider) over lavender valley and nearby villages. Fot the flight we advise you to get arm straps for you camera.

Tour price: 750 EUR


  • Transer from airport to the hotel and back, including all following transport costs to all shooting points in the tour.

  • Double or twin bedroom accomodation in different shooting locations.

  • Breakfasts.

  • Landscape and nightscape photography workshops with analisys of the made photos (up to 10 photos).

  • Assistance and help during shooting on site.

Not included:

  • Flight to Bulgaria.

  • Bulgarian visa (whether required) and travel insurance.

  • Lunches and dinners (5 EUR is average lunch price and 15 EUR for dinner)

  • Airtrike flight – 65 EUR/30 minutes (to be paid at place) Flight time can be increased by your request.

Standard accomodation is in 3*-4* hotels, twin or double room, with breakfast and lunch.

Up to your request, we can provide you with single or family suite.

Payment conditions

– 30% (250 EUR) for the reservation
– 70% (500 EUR) at 20 days before the tour starting date.

Full refund in case if the event cancelled by the organizer.
No refund in case if participant cancells participation during one month before the event.
50% refund in case if participant cancells participation up to one month before the event.
Final payment has to be done at 20 days before the tour starting date.

Equipment and wearing during the tour

  • DSLR or MILC camera with wide angle lens (14 to 24mm.)

  • Telephoto lens for the flight with the airtrike and long-distance landscape.

  • Macro lens.

  • Gradient (hard, soft) and CPL filters.

  • Tripod and remote shutter release device.

  • Headlight or torch for the night shooting.

  • Clothes both for warm and cold weather. We will shoot mainly in the valley, under the hot summer sun, but we will also shoot Buzludzha, which is situated at 1400m. above the sea level, where temperature fall down to 5-7C.
