Golden Eagle festival “Berkutchi” is the incredibly bright and cathy sight which takes place in the western part of Mongolia every autumn. Hundreds of ‘berkutchi’ (eagle hunters) in national costumes get together for the contest. Participating in several types of competitions, they compete for the title of the best hunter of the year. Besides the festival, we will also go to the most beautiful lake and see unusual alpine landscapes of Mongolia.
It’s a comfortable tour for everyone: accommodation in ‘yurtas’ or tourist camps, food from our professional cook.

Itinerary
Day 1, Meeting at the airport (October 1)
Meeting at the airport of Barnaul. Transfer to the village Kosh-Agach along the well-known Chuya Highway (Chuysky tract) across the whole Altai. Our way will be through passes and steppes of the autumnal Altai.
Day 2 (October 2)
Crossing the state border with Mongolia in the morning and going straight to the place of the festival of hunters.
Accommodation to the national houses (‘yurtas’), which will be set up especially for us. The house (‘yurta’) will be located at the bank of the river Hovd, not far from the village Bayan-Ulgiy, from which we will attend the Golden Eagle festival.
Day 3 (October 3)
The whole day will be devoted to the Golden Eagle festival. You will be able to have a feeling that you went back 700 years ago.
Day 4 (October 4)
We will have been at the festival by the lunchtime, after that we will go to the lake Khoton Nuur. The road passes through the highlands and unusual moon landscape of Mongolia. Accommodation in ‘yurtas’ by the lake.
Day 5 (October 5)
The whole day will we spend by one of the most beautiful Mongolian lakes – Khoton Nuur.
Day 6 (October 6)
An early start. Transfer to the neighborhood of the village Bayan-Ulgiy.
Day 7 (October 7)
After crossing the state border we will stay in Kurai for the night. In this place you can enjoy the views of autumnal Altai.
Day 8 (October 8)
Transfer to Barnaul along the famous Chuys Highway (Chuysky tract) across the whole Altai. Accommodation at the hotel.
The sequence of the tour program activities might be changed due to the weather conditions or other factors.
Meal:
Food for all participants is provided by a professional chef. He will take care of early breakfasts, outdoor lunches and dinners at the hotel. You will have no need to think about cooking or having a snack in a café on the way. Excellent cuisine made from fresh and healthy products will always please you and give you strength so that you are not distracted from your favourite business.
Equipment:
Besides summer clothes (shorts, a T-shirt and sandals), you should also take something warm. Temperatures may vary from +20 C during the day to -5 C at night. It’s also recommended to take a sleeping bag as well.

- Sleeping bag with comfort temperature 0°C or lower (might be snow and quite cold weather)
