Lavender Fields of Bulgaria

Bulgaria is the world’s leader in lavender production that has displaced even France where lavender fields are the part of the national treasure.

This photo tour to the valley of roses and lavender is an excellent opportunity to vary your portfolio in landscape photography. The opportunity to see the apogee of lavender bloom can happen only two weeks a year and we invite you to see it with us. Also we’ll visit the brightest symbol of the past Soviet epoch, - a beautiful abandoned monument of Buzludzha.

Itinerary

Day 1, Meeting at the airport (June 20)

Meeting at the Varna or Burgas airport, depending on the flights available (that we’ll be agreed in advance in order to minimize the time of waiting for the group members). The first place to stay is a Tyulenovo village hotel (during the tour we will be staying at different hotels all over the country). Pay attention that there are double rooms and if you go with your family or a group of several people we can provide a family room that should be booked in advance. It’s possible to book a single room, too.
A sunset shooting might be possible and will depend on flight and arrival time of the group.
A night shooting of a lavender field with wind generators near the village of Shabla.

Sunset in the field near Plovdiv with a night shooting at the same place after having dinner. A night shooting in the field.

Day 4 (June 23)

A night stay at beautiful small town of Kalofer where we will spend two nights. Shooting of the sunset in a lavender field near the Tazha village.

Day 5 (June 24)

We will start our day with a flight on the motorized air-trike over the roses and lavender valley and then going back to have breakfast. Then we can go and see one of the oldest rose oil refineries where you will get to know everything about produced essential oils and by cosmetics from production if desired.
Evening shooting in a lavender field nears the Tazha village. After sunset we can have dinner in one of the national restaurants.
Every participant can give up to 10 photos that were made during the tour and get recommendations of where and how they can make their results better.
